About Doreen
Doreen Wilson, the owner of Knit 'n Needle Shack, was born and raised in Fort William. After retiring from many years at Old Fort William, she opened Knit 'n Needle Shack in May 1999 on Cumberland Street.

Doreen learned the basics of knitting and sewing from her mother as a very young child. From there, as she tackled pattern after pattern, learned more and more techniques and gradually tried new techniques on her own. Needle Work / Petit Point was learned initially from a family friend and through persistence she gained the confidence to take on larger and larger projects.

Designer sweaters
Doreen's passion is designer sweaters, which gives her a chance to be more creative with different materials and textures as well as incorporating bead work. She always strives for quality work and won't jeopardize quality for quantity. All completed items are of quality material and workmanship and are genuine hand knit.

Items for sale
The most popular items for sale are Briggs and Little pure wool, Bryspun Flexible knitting needles, Eucalan wash and more. Some completed items are available and custom orders are taken.
